When Did You Learn To Trust Yourself And Your Decisions In Graduate School? Pt I
I started to trust myself and my decisions in grad school when I started to look within for validation. In life, it is really easy to look for feedback and affirmation of things being "correct" especially in engineering because you are trained to be quantitative versus qualitative. Although there were times that according to quantitative measures I was not on a path to success I had to look within and believe in myself. One thing that others could not see was the resiliency within. That's something only you can measure and tap into. As for the actual time that I learned to trust myself - I can't pinpoint it because it slowly built as I counted little wins in classes or assignments that others may have seen as insignificant but to me, they meant that I was moving forward and building confidence. The most important thing for you to do is discover what you have to personally do to reach a state of unflappable intrinsic confidence.
